Kilbeggan Irish Whiskey

Since 1757, the town of Kilbeggan and the distillery that shares its name have been inextricably linked. In the middle of the 20th century, the distillery saw its doors shuttered. After almost three decades of waiting for an outside entity to revive it, the townspeople took matters into their own hands.  For over three years, they spent their nights and weekends bringing the building back to life, until its stills were once again filled with whiskey. We were tasked with introducing their story to an American audience who’d never heard of the stuff.

‘We Are Kilbeggan’ is a campaign built around still photography and film captured by Josh Goleman over the course of a three day shoot. These images were also put to use in a 32-page ‘zine’ that featured interviews with the principal forces behind the distillery’s revitalization and put the town’s history and resilient spirit on display.
